Public Health Sciences PhD student Oluwaseun Adeyemi (Seun) has been named a 2020 Traffic Safety Scholar by the Lifesavers National Conference on Highway Safety Priorities. The conference, held in Tampa, FL, showcases research, evidence-based strategies, and new approaches to eliminate traffic deaths and serious roadway injuries. Seun is one of 50 students selected to travel to Tampa this year to take part in workshops and professional networking with traffic safety industry leaders.

Prior to moving to the United States in 2018, Seun earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria and his Master of Public Health degree from University of Roehampton in London, England. Seun’s current research focuses on spatial epidemiology of road-related injuries and theory-driven road accident prevention models.
