Speaker Series: Understanding Disparities in an Urbanizing World

We welcome Naeema Muhammad, the Organizing Co-Director of the North Carolina Environmental Justice Network (NCEJN) as our first Understanding Disparities in an Urbanizing World Speaker. During her career she has been an advocate for communities impacted by industrial hog farming operations. She also serves on the Environmental Justice & Equity Advisory Board for the Secretary of the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). NCEJN promotes health and environmental equality for all people of North Carolina through community action. This event is co-sponsored by the UNC Charlotte Department of Public Health Sciences, the Department of Geography, and the Urban Institute.

Mrs. Muhammad's presentation will take place from 3:00-4:30pm in the Popp Martin Student Union Theater and will be followed by a short reception from 4:30-5:30pm.
